I wore this LBD to a reception for Mexican President Felipe Calderón (2006-2012) last night- oh how I enjoyed myself! I met some really substantial and down-right awesome people, and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to attend. Surprisingly, I knew exactly what I wanted to wear without thinking twice about it (How much do you love that feeling?! Gives me so much satisfaction). I knew I wanted a polished look, without being too formal. Luckily, my friend had this wrap dress (actually, she bought it for herself and didn’t like it, so I bought it off of her!) which ended up being ideal. While the look seems simple, there are so many intricate details that I love about it. And the best part about loving what you wear is the strong feeling of confidence you get from it. I’m pretty sure my self-confidence was shining last night as I was casually chatting with some highly-distinguished professionals, and I honestly feel like so much of that came from feeling great in my outfit. It’s amazing what a positive self-image can do for you! Now, if I could just meet the Obama family :)

Llevé este “LBD” a una recepción para el Presidente de México, Felipe Calderón (2006-2012) anoche. ¡Ay cómo me divertí! Conocí a muchas personas increíbles y me siento muy afortunada de haber tenido la oportunidad de asistir al evento. Sorprendentemente, sabía exactamente lo quería llevar sin pensar mucho (Me encanta esa sensación! Qué gran satisfacción!). Sabía que quería un look pulido que no fuera demasiado formal. Por suerte, una amiga mía tenía este vestido (en realidad, lo compró pero no le gustó, así que se lo compré) que era ideal. Aunque parece sencillo hay tantos detalles que me encantan. La mejor parte de amar lo que se lleva es el fuerte sentido de confianza que le da. Estoy segura que mi auto-confianza brillaba anoche mientras que hablaba con distinguidos profesionales y sé que ese sentimiento me lo dio la ropa que llevaba. Es increíble lo que se puede crear con una auto-perspectiva positiva. Ahora lo que me falta es conocer a la familia Obama :)
