I’m lucky enough to have a relaxed dress-code at work, which includes jeans on Friday’s.  I never, and I mean never, miss the opportunity to wear denim to work.  I am a huge fan of jeans, and I would probably wear them seven days a week if I could. While I love to dress-down sometimes, it’s important that I still look professional (I am easily confused for being an intern, so I have to be strategic!). An appropriate “Casual Friday” look can easily be done by pairing a blazer with jeans. I added some lace-inspired pieces and lip color for a polished finish…  And there you have it: Casual Friday.

I’m curious to know… what do you wear on casual days? Have a great weekend!

I need to get your inspiration to still look professional on casual Fridays. I wear jeans that are a little frayed on the leg bottom, an old green sweater and my Merrell ankle boots. Kind of shabby but not shabby sheik!

    • Kathy, thanks for reading! Here are some suggestions for your casual look:
1). Add some jewelry! A necklace could give some punch to the green sweater, and it’s easy to throw on in the morning (check-out the Sanibel Pendant and Zoe Lariat on my Stella&Dot site- they’re simple, but they pop!)
2). You could get a fitted-style jean, like a slim, straight-leg pant. Typically, jeans with narrower leg openings appear much more clean-cut. If you want to show off the ankle boot, you can cuff/roll them up to change the bottom hem appearance, as well.
3). Try black denim. That way, you’re still wearing jeans, but the dark wash is sleek and polished. You’ll be comfy, but professional!

Hope that helps & have a great weekend!

Love the blazer look with Jeans! I am going to try an outfit like this tomorrow. I wish I had a casual Friday where I could wear jeans to work. So jealous!

    • Sarah, I’m glad you love it and can try it out on a weekend! If you are allowed to deviate from a standard suit-blouse combination at work, you could pair a blazer with black trousers. I would use a pair with a tailored leg-opening, and ditch the knee-boots for some appropriate booties or heels. Hope that can work for you! Have a great weekend!

Thanks Raquel! What do you think about the look you have on today, with boot socks showing a little bit? I love the riding boot/tall boot look with boot socks, but am not sure what to wear on top.

      • I love boot-socks! I think a ruffled, creme boot-sock would work with this look (I would stick to the same color as the shirt, so there isn’t too much going on). I also think that riding boots + bootsocks with leggings and a sweater would be awesome for a chic, but comfortable weekend outfit. I love open cardigans that have a “waterfall” look on the front- you can find those almost anywhere- Forever 21, Express, WHBM. It would make fun a playful and cute outfit (not to mention warm for the snowy weather!).
