Hello hello! Did you all enjoy getting an extra hour of sleep over the weekend?! I did :) I wore this look last week on a very chilly day, and i’ve gotta say, i wish I could rewear it over and over again because it keeps me so warm. I’m glad I listened to advice from those of you who commented about me keeping this vest. It is puffy- that’s for sure- but it is such a fun addition to a look and seriously keeps me warm! So thanks to all of you! Today I’m playing with patterns, one of my favorite ways to make my look playful. Pattern-mixing works really well when you have at least one continuous color. In this case, both of the colors, taupe and black, are used in both patterns, but even if it were just one, this would still be wearable. You can go through your closet and try this out and I bet you’ll find tons of matches!

I’ve been using these OTK boots a lot lately because unfortunately, my black riding boots are totally destroyed. Ok, not totally, but broken-in and loved oh-so much that they are no longer black. So i’m currently on the hunt for another pair, but until then, I’ll keep wearing these lovelies! ;)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Oh and PS: I titled this one “200” because it is my 200th post! Time flies when you love what you’re doing, huh?! :)

¡Hola hola!

Love you outfit – you’ve given me inspiration for how to wear my own herringbone vest!

If your black boots aren’t black anymore, before you toss them you might try having them redyed by a cobbler or getting some black shoe polish and trying that first. I have a pair of vintage boots that I’ve kept up this way and they look brand new!

  9. I am really loving your layering here! That padded vest is a definite keeper, and it looks amazing over the blouse. And those boots? They are fabulous! Are they comfortable, though? I tend to lean toward flat riding boots and wedges because my feet hate heels.

    • Thank you thank you!! These boots are actually super comfortable! They aren’t too high of a heel and have this awesome rubber sole- I also always add a foot pad in for extra cushion :) but flat riders are the best for long days! ;)
