Will You Help Me Tie-the-Knot?

Today I’m sharing a little Do-It-Yourself craft that I used when asking my favorite gals to be by my side for the big wedding day in August. It was an easy and adorable gift using knot bracelets from Banana Republic. I hope you enjoy!

Supplies- DIY Bridesmaid Proposal GiftWill you be my Bridesmaid...?

Alright, so to do this DIY, you really just need to make a trip to your local craft supplies store, after buying your knot bracelets. Mine are from Banana Republic, and I got them 40% off during one of their many sales. As for the crafts, I bought the gold polkadot lining & gold glitter paper, as well as the glitter alphabet stickers and chevron ribbon all at Michaels. You can use double-sided tape or rubber cement as an adhesive.

I got the boxes when I bought the bracelets from Banana Republic. You may need to specifically ask, but wherever you buy your jewelry should give you small gift boxes at no extra cost.

I traced the top lid (which is wider) onto the back of the glitter gold paper and cut it out to fit the top of the box, leaving some extra edge. I traced the bottom lid of the box for the internal glitter square, so it would fit inside (you may need to trim this down after initially cutting). I then cut the gold polkadot paper using the inside-glitter square for guidance. I cut the pieces all together so their shapes and sizes were cohesive. I used double-sided tape to paste the glitter paper to the box.

Steps- DIY Bridesmaid Proposal Gift

I played around with different catchy and short blurbs to write on the inside of the box. Once I found a good one (thanks to the help of my creative parents!) I wrote it out. My blurb says

“{NAME}, I’d love to have you as a {bridesmaid/maid-of-honor/matron-of-honor}. Will you help me tie-the-knot?”

I went with “tie-the-knot because of the knot bracelet. Depending on your gift, this blurb could be changed to any other idea.

I will say that it was kind of difficult to write neatly since the bubbles are 3D on the paper, so I don’t love my messy handwriting on this part. I thought about printing clear labels, which could be another option. Good thing my ‘maids didn’t mine my writing, though! :)

¿Me ayudarías a tie-the-knot?”

After that, it’s a matter of cutting ribbon to surround the box and placing a sticker on. I used double-sided tape again to make the ribbon extra tight. I then stuck the sticker with the letter of their name on each box. I played with which stickers to by in store (there were some fun “ring” themed ones), but ultimately, I thought the personalized initial was the cutest idea.

A there’s the finished product! The girls loved their gifts. The wrapping and design is a little prelude to the wedding colors and theme too ;) I think they will use these bracelets on the big day as well, so we sort-of killed two birds with one stone! I’ve linked the bracelet, as well as other options in gold, silver and rose gold below for you all.

Thanks for reading and I hope you liked the DIY! If you have any wedding planning tips you’d like to share, please do! The countdown is officially on :D

These look beautiful! I didn’t even think they were homemade at first. They look like something you would pay a lot of money for. Love it!
